Money Saving Challenge (100 Envelope Savings Challenge)

Last updated: 8 September 2026

This policy explains what Money Saving app collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers the iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS versions of the app.

The short version

  • Your savings data — challenges, amounts, streaks, achievements and any gold or silver you log — stays on your device, and in your own iCloud if you turn iCloud sync on. We never receive it.
  • During onboarding we ask for some details about you, including your name, email address and some optional background questions. Those answers are sent to our servers and to our analytics provider.
  • We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps and websites.
  • We have no access to your bank, card or payment details at any point.

1. Who is responsible

Money Saving is published by Emin Emini. For anything in this policy, including requests to access or delete your data, contact: hello@eminemini.com.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you enter during onboarding

When you first set up the app we ask a series of questions. Your answers are sent to our server and to our analytics provider. This includes:

DataNotes
NameRequested during setup
Email addressRequested during setup, including if you opt in to saving tips
Preferred currency
Savings goals, motivations and obstaclesMultiple choice
Features you are interested inMultiple choice
Saving experience and how often you save
Preferred reminder time
Age range
Occupation
Income range
How you found the app
Your target duration and target amountThe goal you set during setup
Whether you enabled notifications
App version and platformTo diagnose problems
How long setup tookTo improve the setup flow

We use this to understand who uses the app and what to build next, and to personalise the insights the app shows you.

2.2 Usage analytics

We record in-app events — screens opened, setup steps completed, subscription state — to understand how the app is used and where people get stuck. These events are linked to the random identifier described in section 3, and carry the onboarding answers above as profile properties.

2.3 Subscriptions and purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card details, billing address or Apple ID. We record only whether you hold an active subscription, which plan, and — if you took part in the referral programme — whether an invite code was redeemed, so we can grant the right access.

2.4 Data that never leaves your device

The following is stored locally, and in your private iCloud if you enable iCloud sync in Settings (it is off unless you turn it on). It is not transmitted to us:

  • Your challenges, saved amounts, daily progress, streaks and achievements
  • Every precious metals purchase, withdrawal, weight, purity, premium and price you log
  • Your net worth and all figures derived from the above
  • Any backup file you export — that file goes wherever you choose to send it
  • Face ID / Touch ID. Biometric authentication is performed by iOS. The app is only told whether it succeeded; we never receive biometric data

2.5 Precious metal prices

To show live gold and silver prices the app requests a price for a currency from our price service. That request contains only the currency code — no personal data, and nothing about your holdings. Prices are cached on your device for eight hours.

3. Identifiers

On first launch the app generates a random identifier and stores it on your device. It is used to link your onboarding answers, analytics events and subscription state to the same anonymous profile.

It is not the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA), not your device ID, and not tied to your Apple ID. The app contains no advertising SDK and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, because it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Deleting and reinstalling the app generates a new identifier.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf:

ProviderPurposeData
SupabaseStores onboarding answers, subscription and referral stateSection 2.1, 2.3
MixpanelProduct analyticsSection 2.1, 2.2
AppleApp distribution, purchases, iCloud sync, notificationsHandled under Apple's own privacy policy

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.

5. Where your data is stored

Onboarding, subscription and referral data is stored in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Mixpanel may process data outside the EU; transfers rely on the safeguards in Mixpanel's own terms. iCloud data is stored by Apple under Apple's terms.

6. How long we keep it

Onboarding, analytics and subscription records are kept for as long as the app is operated, unless you ask us to delete them. Data held on your device or in your iCloud is under your control and is removed when you delete the app or clear its data.

7. Legal basis (EEA and UK)

  • Consent — for the optional details you choose to provide during setup and for the saving-tips email, if you opt in.
  • Contract — to provide the app and manage your subscription and referral rewards.
  • Legitimate interests — to understand product usage, fix problems, and improve the app.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete your data
  • Restrict or object to how we use it
  • Withdraw consent, at any time

Email hello@eminemini.com and we will respond within 30 days. Because the data is tied to a random identifier rather than an account, please write from the email address you entered during setup so we can locate your records.

If you are in the EEA or UK you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Money Saving is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS. Our database is configured so that the access key contained in the app cannot read stored records — the app can submit your answers but cannot retrieve anyone's, including your own. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
